"The commercial software package SIMPACK was acquired by the Chair of Engineering Mechanics/Dynamics for research purposes. In addition to the standard Kinematics & Dynamics module, the package includes the following modules:

• SIMAT

• SIMPACK Code Export

The SIMPACK software package offers extensive access and numerous possibilities for extending the existing system through the use of user routines for nearly all elements of the multibody system. For more information, see www.SIMPACK.de.

One area of application for SIMPACK is the simulation of elastic contact within multibody systems. Here, a distinction is made between penalty-based approaches and approaches based on Lagrange multipliers.

Another application is the simulation of existing test benches, such as the hardware-in-the-loop test bench for human endoprostheses."
