The Chair of Engineering Mechanics/Dynamics has acquired the software package MSC.Adams from MSC Software for teaching and research purposes.

In addition to the standard modules — the preprocessor Adams/View, the solver Adams/Solver, and the postprocessor Adams/Postprocessor — the following modules are also available:

• Adams/Car

• Adams/Driveline

• Adams/Flex

• Adams/Insight

This provides the Chair of Engineering Mechanics/Dynamics with a powerful simulation tool that is also widely used in industry.

The multibody simulation software MSC.Adams is primarily used in the computer lab course for the subject Dynamics of Multibody Systems. For example, it is used to perform both direct and inverse kinematics for the industrial articulated robots available at the chair
