Prof Dr.-Ing. habil. Christoph Woernle

Christoph Woernle held the Chair of Technical Dynamics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology at the University of Rostock until September 2024.

He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart from 1977 to 1982. He received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart in 1988, followed by his habilitation in technical mechanics in 1994. In 1994, he was appointed to the Chair of Technical Dynamics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology at the University of Rostock.

Christoph Woernle's main research and teaching interests lie in the field of kinematics and dynamics of multibody systems with applications in machine dynamics, automotive engineering and wind energy technology, robotics and musculoskeletal biomechanics.

He was Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Mechanical and Marine Engineering for several years and Dean from 2012 to 2014.
